I am ready to get organized. What is the first step?

Book your complimentary phone consultation!  During this 15-30 minute conversation, we will discuss your needs as related to current stressors and “vision” for your space and belongings, and review service recommendations. If you’re ready to book services at the time of the consultation call, your project will be added to the service calendar.  However, there is no obligation to book services at time of call!


Do I need to prepare anything before the first session?

Not at all! Clients sometimes ask if they should tidy up or move items before our services begin.  On the contrary, that’s what you are hiring us for!! We expect to step into your space exactly “as is”.

When a home needs both organization AND deep cleaning, we recommend tackling the organizational process first and then establish regular house cleaning. While we are not a house cleaning service, we do clean surfaces and areas as we organize items.


Do your services include storage and organizational products such as containers?

Our “Organize” service includes storage and organizational product recommendations. Our “Thrive” service includes personalized product procurement (shopping and installation). Regardless of which service level fits your needs, we highly recommend NOT purchasing any product before the service process has started, as we want to make sure that any recommendations are custom tailored to the needs and measurements of your space. 


What is the client role during the actual organizing sessions?

This depends on which service option is appropriate for your needs. For the one-on-one KonMari Method, clients are expected to be available and working side by side with Mia throughout all sessions (especially when making important decisions re: keeping or letting go items). For the Team Services, clients are not expected to participate fully during sessions, however they do need to be available occasionally throughout the session either in person or via text to answer any questions or decision that may arise. Clients may be at location or not and can be as hands-off or hands-on as desired. Our organizers carry out the established plan from home tour/consultation. 


How do you support with life transitions and the challenges that may come up as we go through my belongings?

Emotional life transitions such as a home move, career change, addition to the family, loss of a loved one, or change of marital status are often accompanied by the need to examine and reorganize our physical belongings. For clients experiencing these transitions, our most appropriate and supportive service is the one-on-one KonMari Method process. Although not a licensed mental health professional, Mia’s coaching within the parameters of the KonMari Method provides strong emotional and decision making support as we go through the process of redesigning your lifestyle vision and tidying your belongings in accordance. During our work together, all emotions are welcome and made space for. This is a client led process with Mia’s strong accountability and guidance, the pace of decisions determined by client.


 

How will I continue to stay organized after our sessions are complete?

 

Sustainable organization is a huge part of Tidy Evolution’s services and goals for our clients. It can absolutely be obtained for all clients once spaces have been edited and “re-set”. While we dearly love working with each and every one of you, we do not want repeat business every 6 months for the same space or items! The foundation for sustainable organization is set by consulting and coaching with you regarding lifestyle habits, preferences and capabilities. Based on this, we design personalized systems to fit client needs and establish ongoing accountability checks in place to ensure that new systems will be adapted and sustainable. During this process, we are there for you as a supportive service and never “require” a particular type or organization or system.  Our goal is to work with you to find the perfect way for YOU to stay organized. For example, if a busy client will not have time to fold or hang clean laundry, that’s completely fine with us!  Instead, we will recommend setting up one closet drawer or container for each clothing category (T-shirts, jeans, etc), and at least sorting clean clothing into these locations so that finding an outfit can be efficient and functional. Tidy Evolution also offers these follow-up services for maintaining your organized home: 1) training for your housekeeping/house staff for their successful participation in maintaining organized spaces; 2) monthly home resets carried out by Tidy Evolution organizers.


Can you help my entire family get organized? What about my kids?

We LOVE working with families and children!  As educators and parents, our team brings this expertise to all family spaces and systems. For busy families who are overwhelmed by clutter, we recommend our Team Services. During the initial home tour/consultation plan, the level of involvement and decision making that children participate in will be personalized.  For children age 5 and older who are very attached to their belongings and/or for whom parents are seeking to teach a new relationship with belongings, the one-on-one KonMari Method with Mia is recommended. The nature and length of these sessions are tailored with consideration to the child's age, developmental level, interest, and attention span. Children are KonMari naturals who thrive with the structure and decision autonomy provided with this method!


Do you haul away donations after we go through my belongings?

Yes!  All services include donation take-away.  Specifically, 1-2 carloads of donations per organizing session.  For larger donation/recycling/dump needs such as those associated with garage organization, we offer coordination with local hauling services.

What is your COVID-19 policy?

All Tidy Evolution staff are fully vaccinated and gladly follow client preference for precautionary measures such as masking and social distancing.
